Neptune in Aries: Fighting for the Dream

Neptune entered Aries on March 30th, 2025, giving us a taste of what’s to come. This first leg of the transit lasts until October 22nd, 2025, when it retrogrades back into Pisces for one last hurrah. Then on January 26th, 2026, Neptune settles into Aries until 2039. So, this current moment? It’s a preview—a glimpse into the next 13 years of collective dreams, disillusionments, and everything in between.

Looking Back: Neptune in Aries 1861–1874

The last time Neptune was in Aries, it was 1861. That year, eleven southern states seceded from the Union and formed the Confederacy, marking the start of the American Civil War. A time of intense battle for beliefs.

During that transit:

  • Slavery was abolished (1865).

  • The Ku Klux Klan was founded—April 1865—as a direct reaction to the devastated South post-war. A white supremacist, far-right hate group cloaked in religion and fear.

  • The 14th Amendment was added to the Constitution, solidifying the citizenship rights of formerly enslaved peoples. One of the most powerful amendments ever added—guaranteeing equal protection under the law.

  • In 1870, the 15th Amendment prohibited denying voting rights based on race or past servitude.

  • And in a totally different realm, Yellowstone National Park was created in 1872. Not only is it a national treasure, but it sits on the largest super volcano in North America. Dormant… but powerful. Kinda like Neptune.

There was also a rise in Spiritualism. While it began in the 1840s, it gained serious traction during the Civil War. People were surrounded by death and grief—seeking contact, answers, comfort.

And let’s not forget the inventions:

  • 1861: Telegraph lines: They connected people in ways never seen before and were heavily used by both sides during the American Civial War.

  • 1867: Barbed wire: Neptune deals with boundaries and borders. Barbed wire enforced these borders in a way that’s violent and threatening. Aries also rules cutting, alluding to the barbed wire’s ability to cut clothing and flesh.

  • 1869: American football: The invention of this sport created a means of escape by indulging in competition and elevating players to celebrity status. This is also a fairly violent game.

  • 1873: Typewriter: Provided a means to speed up communication and brought the ability to become a writer to the masses.

Neptune in Pisces: The Vibes We’re Leaving Behind

Neptune in Pisces was an era where everything felt fluid, dreamy, and a little bit slippery. It brought a massive increase in focus on mental health. We saw the rise of “therapy speak,” people openly talking about their traumas, and being more comfortable discussing things like depression and anxiety.

Social media also reflected Neptunian energy in a big way by blurring the lines between what’s real and what’s an illusion. We’ve spent years comparing ourselves to filtered, photoshopped versions of reality. With the rise of the influencer, the boundaries between celebrity and regular person dissolved entirely.

Of course, Neptune in Pisces also brought spirituality back into the mainstream. People are doing shadow work, learning astrology, exploring Tarot readings, and working with crystals. On the flip side, it also brought about the commodification of those same practices. People throwing around words like “guru” and “shaman” to sell you something under the illusion of divine authority. It’s been a time of navigating the realm of magic and illusion.

What to Expect

We’re moving into a transit where people start fighting for the things they believe in. Neptune rules spirituality, beliefs, religion, and magic—and Aries is the sign of war, action, and courage. This combo is about becoming more protective and activated around our beliefs.

We’re already seeing this play out with stories like Beck Lawrence, who owns The Serpent's Key Shoppe & Sanctuary in Pennsylvania. She’s currently suing the district of Hanover for violating her 1st amendment rights after police threatened to shut her store down over a 163-year-old law banning fortune telling. And interestingly enough, that law was passed in 1861—the last time Neptune was in Aries.

This will be a time when Neptune’s dreams meet Aries’s actions. In Pisces, we were content to imagine the world we want to live in. In Aries, we’re being asked to actually create it. We’ll see a rise in spiritual leaders, which might look like an increase in more extreme religious groups. Conversely, this may also mean a rise in people who are boldly anti-spiritual.

Because Neptune rules empathy and connection while Aries rules war and conflict, we can expect to see a considerable rise in activism. People fighting for what they believe in. Fighting for the underdog. Aries loves an underdog story.

And speaking of stories, expect a shift in how we tell them through film, TV, and music. Neptune in Pisces brought us the escapist themes of partying and losing it all on the dance floor. It also brought with it the huge popularity of festival culture, making that desired three-day escape wildly expensive. With Neptune in Aries, our media might begin reflecting on themes of heroism, beating the odds, and fighting for survival.

Remember — this is a 13-year transit, so everything will unfold slowly. Unless Neptune is hitting a personal planet in your chart—or moving off one—you might not feel it immediately.

By Sign

Let’s look at what Neptune in Aries will mean for you! For the most accurate message, please prioritize reading for your rising sign. However, your Sun and Moon signs may resonate as well.

Aries

Neptune in Aries enters your first house and brings the focus on you. How you present yourself to the world. Your physical body. Your identity. There might be a dream version of yourself that you’re finally able to bring into reality. You also might find yourself in situations where you need to access bravery and courage around your sovereignty and personal authority. Fighting for who you are and who you want to become. Over the next 13 years, focusing on caring for your physical body will be super important.

Taurus

Neptune in Aries enters the realm of your inner world. Your subconscious mind. The places where you desire to be alone or even feel secluded or exiled. With this planet here, it’ll be important to stay focused on working through your mental health, as both Neptune and the 12th house deal with escapism and addiction.

Conversely, you might start to really find magic in your alone time. It’ll be a time for discovering and integrating the parts of you that have remained unseen. And this transit might bring about an inner fight as you work through accepting these new aspects of yourself.

Gemini

Neptune in Aries enters the section of your chart that deals with the groups you belong to and how they support your wishes, hopes, and dreams. Some of you might find yourself involved in activism and exploring groups that fight for the greater good.

But even if you aren’t taking the activist route, the people you align yourself with will be monumental in helping you move toward your goals and helping to solidify your dreams into reality.

Cancer

For Cancers, Neptune in Aries feels very entrepreneurial. This transit takes place in your 10th house of career and public image. This is all about taking the things you want to create and putting it out there for the world to see. This can also unfold in a traditional work setting or even something that alters the public’s general view of you, even if it doesn’t have anything to do with work. But it’s about having a vision for the future or something, and then executing the steps to get there.

And of course, with Aries involved, it’s not all easy peasy. You might have to fight to get people to see that vision. But Aries energy is also very pioneering, so remember that even though everyone might not see it, if you trust your gut instincts, you can make things happen.

Leo

Neptune in Aries entering your 9th house is about learning, spiritual growth, and travel. Over the coming years, you might have profound experiences abroad or meet teachers that completely change your view of the world.

This is a time when you can find yourself energized by the idea of learning and exploring new topics. Leos are already very creative, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you find this spiritual expansion through artistic means. Pay attention to the things that you’re studying right now because they might be topics that carry you throughout the next 13 years.

Virgo

Neptune in Aries for Virgos is happening in your 8th house of transformation and our karmic ties to others. And it also deals with the way you’re tied to others financially through things like loans, debts, and joint finances through marriage. Neptune in Aries is transforming your ideas and experiences around these things.

The 8th house also deals with death, which could be literal or metaphorical, such as the death of parts of ourselves and connections that no longer serve us. But with Neptune in the house of debts, be cautious about how you spend your money or any loans you take out. Make sure you read the fine print.

Libra

For Libras, Neptune in Aries is entering your 7th house of relationships. This is bringing some magic to your one-on-one connections. So we’re talking about your spouse or significant other, but also your business partnerships. Your meaningful connections become your fighting partners. The people who lift you up and see your vision and your dream.

However, you also might need to stand on business on your own. Aries is a very independent sign. So you might have to do the things that set you apart. You might have to let go of the connections that don’t see your dream and vision to make space for those who do.

Scorpio

For Scorpios, Neptune in your 6th house is interesting because it’s the place of hard work and sacrifice. It’s the mundane things we must do to keep the ship running. And naturally, Neptune wants to escape all that and transcend the mortal toil. But in Aries, you’re energized to do that hard work. Aries says, “There’s no way out except through.” This transit can be about cutting the bullshit and doing what you need to do. Letting go of the things that don’t serve you. This can even mean letting go of work that doesn’t serve you. But on the flip side, Neptune can take the sacrifice of the 6th house and turn it into martyr energy. You want to be careful not to sacrifice all of yourself for some greater good. Balance is key here.

Sagittarius

I’m a Sagittarius rising, so I’ve been a little excited about this transit for us. Neptune in Aries enters the 5th house, which rules over creativity, pleasure, hobbies, and children. This transit might help some of us really put our creative pursuits into action. Creating for the sake of creating. Joy for the sake of joy. Pleasure for the sake of pleasure. And in a culture that’s very focused on production as a means to an end, you might find yourself needing to fight to protect that pure creative part of yourself.

Because the 5th house also rules children, I can see some Sagittarians fighting to advocate for children’s rights. So pay attention to the creative endeavors that you’re embarking on now because they might be interests and pursuits that carry you through the next 13 years.

Capricorn

Capricorns, Neptune in Aries is entering your fourth house of home and family—your roots and traditions. This could mean moving away from family, embarking on traditions that are separate from the ones you were raised on, uncovering truths, and sifting through illusions of your family.

Additionally, this may also be a time when you build and create your dream home and family. To do that successfully, you might need to break cycles from your past. This can also lead to some conflict around the home and fighting for the peace and safety you wish to build.

Aquarius

Neptune in Aries is entering your third house of communication, siblings, and your immediate surroundings, like your neighborhood. Some of you might move to new neighborhoods, while others might begin exploring new dynamics with your siblings. Because this house deals with communication, many of you are going to find new ways to communicate your dreams and desires. With Aries involved, this might mean being in situations where you must stand up for yourself or speak truths that might ruffle some feathers.

On a lighter note, something about this transit feels like finding adventure in your backyard. It’ll be a good time to explore your area with an open mind. Connect with your neighbors as community and connection will be vital for you during this transit.

Pisces

This transit is all about your finances, income, and what you value as Neptune enters your 2nd house. This can be an opportunity for you to find new ways to make money, be that through a creative endeavor or a career shift. And you might feel more energized to do so because Neptune in Pisces in your 1st house may have fel slow and weighty. Like wading through water. In Aries, Neptune energizes your ideas and helps you execute them. So, expect to see some shifts around your income and what you do to make money.

The only word of caution I would like to give is that Neptune can bring feelings of illusion, and Aries is very impulsive. Make sure you spend your money wisely during this transit.
